Hello, nice to meet you!

My name is Casey Gultom, and I am the founder of Gultom Aviation.

The idea to start this site all stemmed from me studying to take my Certified Flight Instructor license. There was a lot of content to memorize, and the learning process was hard. On my quest to find a way to cram all that info into my brain, I discovered this: The best way to learn something is to teach others. So I gathered some brave friends to put up with my clumsy attempts to explain boring aviation theory, and I found that I was able to learn the material better.

During the process, I ended up with a lot of notes that I’ve written. I wanted a way to organize everything into something coherent, and easy to understand. As I began to organize my notes, a thought occurred to me. If teaching leads to learning, then the more people I teach, the more I will learn. Therefore, I should share my notes with as many people I can.

Gultom Aviation is my own personal blog. I created this site to archive my school notes, as well as to help students learn. I hope these notes will be useful in your career.

Casey is passionate about making aviation more accessible to all, especially those who are traditionally underrepresented in the field. She is a proud minority who believes that everyone should have equal opportunities to succeed in aviation. This is why she started Gultom Aviation – to provide free educational resources for aspiring pilots and mechanics, regardless of their background.
